When He changes your plan?

So, in my last post we talked a little bit about when our plans don’t line up with God’s plan.  We understand that God is sovereign. The passage shows us God’ plan for Mary’s life.  God had pre-determined in Isaiah 9:6 that He would send His son Jesus through a virgin who happens to be Mary.

Therefore, we now see from the above-mentioned background, Mary had plans, Joseph had plans, and God had plans.  What do you do when the Plans collide?  The plans didn’t necessarily change but God inserted His pre-determined purpose into the plan.

Mary a virgin, represented purity. Just as the sacrifice was pure so must the vessel be. Her purpose was planned years before–check the below scripture from Isaiah 11:1-2.  Even Mary’s creation was a part of the plan.  Mary and Joseph did not know what their complete purpose was, but God did.

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.

The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD—

Isaiah 11:1-2

God had determined that they would be the earthly parents of Jesus. Yet, they had something to do with this also because God gave them free will to accept or deny the call and they accepted the call.  Their acceptance of the call changed the world and brought us Jesus.

Why Jesus?

Jesus is the one who reconciles.  The Son of God who brings us back to a right relationship with Him.  He is our Messiah the one who gives us peace and blessings.  Jesus was sent to show us what real love is.  He was love personified in the flesh.  He is the personification of God’s love.  The scripture below gives us revelation on His reconciliation.

and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.  Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.  But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—

Apostle Paul Colossians 1:20-22

A Moment to Reflect

Do you have plans?  Is God calling you right now?  Are you trying to hold off in order to fulfill your current plan?  Does it seem like the two are colliding?

If this is happening in your life right now, learn from Mary.  She decided over two thousand years ago to follow God’s plan.  In the end it all came together for her good and it will for you also.

The Prophet, Jeremiah sums it up well in the scripture below.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future

jeremiah 29:11

Therefore, walk in the blessings of a life purposed by God and watch your life change for the better even when it may seem difficult. Remember His yoke is easy and His burdens a lot.

When you’re in walking in agreement with His purpose for you it won’t be as bad as when you are not.
